Summary

Prologue: August 2015

Ryan Clark had his grandchildren, Brent and Raven, with him when he greeted Gail Gleason in the suppermarket. Gail hugged him and thanked him for helping to save her life sixty years before. At home Ryan told the children the story of how that happened.

Story: August 1955

A group of scouts from Clayburg with canoes and equipment loaded onto Herb Woolery's train which Walt Archer was driving. Some scouts rode in the box car with the canoes unbtil they were dropped off at the bridge over Stoner Creek.

Herman and Penelope Luce arrived in Spearfish Lake to take over Dr. Thomas Halford's medical practice which had been vacant for a number of months.

Garth Matson was enjoying a hamburger lunch when Dan Evachevski greeted him.
