Ryan Clark is the son of Brent Clark and Ursula Mandenberg. He is the grandson of Wayne and married Linda Caserowski. His children include two daughters, Rachel and Ruth, and a son, Randy.

Ryan was nine years old in 1955, the year polio broke out in Spearfish Lake. He heard Garth Matson telling his dad that the incomplete wooden lung in the garage was needed now. Ryan suggested an alternative which could be made quickly,FK16 and later gave up his Erector Set to run the relief valve.FK17 The cob job wooden lung helped to save Gail Saunders' life when she was unable to breathe for herself.FK16

Ryan was one of the group of Vietnam Vets who welcomed Steve Augsberg home. He subsequently gave Steve a job as management trainee at the plywood plant.WTLC15

Clark served on the Spearfish Lake board before serving as Mayor of the town. By 1987 he'd been on the council 14 years.BAR764 His real job was running the family business, Clark Plywood but helps as needed in the management of Clark Construction.

He and Linda started raising their family on Oak Street, but made their home on the lake front of Point Drive, not too far from town, when their eldest was in college and Ruth was a senior in high school. The new home was a little smaller, but Randy thought it overlarge for just two.HC2

As Mayor, Clark was one of the judges that suffered from Hjalmer Lindahlsen's practical joke during the last Chili contest.

Ryan and Linda have been known to visit West Turtle Lake Club, at least for the Halloween parties (the 1987 party appears in Chapter 87 of Busted Axle Road).
