Ruth Clark is the daughter of Ryan Clark and Linda Caserowski. In Dawnwalker we learn she is engaged to a man named Dave that works in a milk factory near Geneva. Like her siblings Rachel and Randy, she will inherit one third of Clark Plywood, although since it is assumed she'll be living downstate, she'll probably want to sell it.

Not confirmed until Hannegan's Cove , Ruth marries Dave Griswold, son of Roger and Kathy Griswold, the child Kathy was pregnant with in the book Rocinante. The milk factory is the evolution of the Griswold farm as told in Facing the Storm.

By 2004, Ruth and Dave have two kids, Mike and Abby, and lived a couple of hundred miles south of Spearfish Lake.^HC4

Ruth was small, with a lot of family resemblance to Randy. She had been an animal lover clear back to small childhood, and had a tendency to collect animals, especially ones that needed tender treatment. In college, she became a veterinary technician. She met Dave there, and after graduation they went to the Grisworld dairy farm, in Arvada Center. It was a big operation, and Ruth was very valuable as a veterinary and lab technician, as well as keeping records.^HC10
