Summary
The hospital had to send Pat Burling to wake Garth Matson who hadn't heard his telephone. They needed the respirator as soon as possible.
Garth roused Brent Clark who set about contacting Dan Evachevski and Joe Paulsen. Nine year old Ryan made a couple of suggestions so Brent and he made a smaller unit to be powered by a vacuum cleaner. With Dan's help they got it done and Brent took it to the hospital.
Garth helped giving Gail Saunders artificial respiration until the respirator was delivered, and then ran the manual valve.
When Sarah Perkins went to get her son Thomas up he complained of being achy so she decided he needed to go to the doctor.
