Summary

Giselle acts as a nurse, giving Nanci a quick check and conversation that allows Nanci to relax a little from the intimidation that people like Randy and Scooter radiate towards her.

Scooter provides the final pep talk before launch. We hear that rather than have folks assigned to a raft, they are expected to change seats over the trip. Crystal and Nanci are put with their Mom who will act as boatman for this leg. Nanci learns just how different things are, watching her mother handling the oars.

Duane handles with oars while the Clarks ride with him. We see how hard Nicole has to work to keep on top of her fears of white water. She's been working with Carole Carter, but even the little riffles give her trouble and she worries over the bigger rapids yet to come.

Josh and Tiffany are with Barbie and Al. Duane had missed introductions and learns anew about the Archers and the Iditarod. Al complains good-naturedly about stealing his boatmen. We learn how Jennifer Walworth has conspired to get the Archers on the first real vacation they’d ever had.

Nanci has relaxed enough that her lack of sleep and general relief has overcome her and put her to sleep.
