Carl Austin is a boatman with Canyon Tours. He had been a swamper and had run his own boat for the last part of the summer of 2000. He missed the rigging before Al Buck's wedding trip in April, 2001 because he had finals the day before and came on the bus with the guests to Lee's Ferry on the morning of departure.CF08 Carl, like Barbie Tompkins and Andy Roney, is a student at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
