Summary
Congressman Elmer Lawton reviewed his staff's suggestions for the service academy nominations. He rejected one suggestion for the Air Force Academy in favor of a kid from Spearfish Lake.
The football team were down about losing the game. Coach Kulwicki told them that everyone, including coaches, knew of things they could have done differently and they might have won. They stopped overnight at Mackinaw City and got to Spearfish Lake about noon. They were led through town by fire engines with flashing lights and sirens in a celebratory parade. Howie and Jared were surprised the kids at college in the south of the state had made the trip and beaten the team bus.
The college sophomres made it home for Christmas and living arrangements in Hawthorne became clear and were accepted.
The Erikson's held Christmas dinner in the evening so Autumn, Jared, Bree and Vixen's parents could join them.
