Autumn Trevetheck was the youngest daughter of Mike and Rowan Trevetheck, residents of Spearfish Lake. She has two older sisters, Spring and Summer. "By themselves, none were totally uncommon names, although when you stopped and thought about it three sisters with those names implied that their parents had to be just a little weird."^BITH1

Autumn was an active participant of her family's practice in the Old Ways religion, including attendance at her sister's Venus Rite where she was holding hands with her cousin Sharon Nancarrow.^BITH5

She was a sophomore at Spearfish Lake High School in 2010. She was promoted to the varsity cheerleader team when the majority of seniors and juniors were expelled or suspended following the busted pre-practice beer party.^BOF30

She didn't accept her mother's beliefs and was irritated by her mother's repeated concerns about secrecy.^RFW4

She was a bit lonely until Bree Gravengood and Jared Wooten started talking to her at lunchtime in school.

She became part of a study group with Jared Wooten, Howie Erikson and Bree Gravengood. As part of the group supporting each other Autumn offered to pretend to be Howie's girlfriend as protection against his previous girlfriend, Misty Frankovich.^RFW11 Over a couple of years the pretence faded and they became real boyfriend and girlfriend.^RFW26

Howie bought Autumn a ski jacket from Spearfish Lake Outfitters for Christmas even though he knew her family didn't do much about the holiday. He and invited her to Christmas dinner with his family when she told her three friends of her mothers beliefs and the total non-event Christians was in their house.^RFW31

About a month after Christmas an “In-Service Day&rdqou; meaning an afternoon off school provided the opporrtunity for Autumn and Howie to give each other their virginities.^RFW32

Autumn was the instigator of the four friends taking turns to provide lunch for their senior year instead of the same old crap served by the school.^RFW37

When Howie was offered a scholarship to Meriwether college, Autumn found Centerton Community College, about twenty miles away, offered the nursing course she wanted. They were considering Howie living with her outside the football season but handling the distance with a single car would affect the decision.^BDS1

Autumn had a few years to complete the Physician's Assistant program, so Howie was working to support her after he graduated. She had a grant from the Donna Clark Foundation so she'd have to spend at least five years working in Spearfish Lake, probably with Dr. McMahon.^RFW42
