Meriwether

Meriwether College was sixty or seventy miles north of Bradford,^NG19 and a similar distance from Hawthorne.^SLH5 It was a Methodist college, and pretty straight for a college in 2011.^SLH16

Russ Bradstreet and Cindy Yeager started at Meriwether together, but Cindy didn't get a good start and had to drop out.^WLH1

It was the location for the first mini-triathlon that Kayla Holst and Rachel Bacon entered.^NG19 It would also be the venue for a full marathon later that August.^NG20

The place was big and green, with a number of solid buildings, somehow like the buildings at the school in Bradford, but very different, too.^NG19

Lyle Angarrack got a partial athletic scholarchip to be the kicker on the football team at Meriwether. Ashley Keilhorn went there with him and they managed to live together on campus during their junior year.^BDS5

Shelly Battle and Mary Lou Kempa from Spearfish Lake were freshmen the same year as Lyle and Ashley.^SLH16

Lyle persuaded the football coach to look at, and eventually offer a half ride athletic scholarship to, Howie Erikson.^{RFW40 BDS5}

Howie's roommate was Cam Patterson.^BDS1
