Summary

Shae Kirkendahl discussed their girls with Mary Bacon and Emily Holst later in the day she'd spent time with them. Mary was worried what their proclaimed nudism meant, did it mean they were lesbians? Was it a passing phase or something they were committed to long term as they seemed committed to their running? Shae and Emily advised her to take it lightly. Eventually she said “As far as I know, it’s just been very casual up to this point, just the two girls that I know of, and I wonder if they dared each other into it. It’d be interesting to get them out in a nudist situation and see just how deep their commitment is.” Neither mother was inclined to take the girls into a nudist situation so thought that idea was out, but Shae said “Maybe not. I do have one idea.”

Kent Bacon talked to the girls about the mini-triathlon, and once they'd agreed to give it a try persuaded Kevin and Emily Holst to allow Kayla to enter. Kent and his son, Casey, also entered and Mary Bacon went along to support them all.

The mini-triathlon took place at Meriwether College giving both girls their first real look at a college campus. Not being sure how to pace herself in the run, Kayla tagged onto another group of runners and made it to the end of the race.

In the locker room a woman in her twenties talked with them and encouraged them to stay with it and improve, even though they'd both beated her personal best time she'd set that day.
