Summary
At the Daytona race track Mel saw Goober Bufford, and later Hap, Junie and Buckshot. Buckshot said he'd be back only if he could have the 27 car again.
Rocky told Mel that he was getting serious with Ariel and didn't want to go out on the road this year but was worried how Frank and Spud would take it. Mel advised him to make sure what Ariel thought before making a decision. Rocky and Ariel decided to get married before the MMSA crew left Livonia.
Testing at Pensacola before the first race of the season went well and the three new drivers seemed OK. The end of the feature race was close with Arlene, Buckshot, Dewey and Mel all contending.
They stayed south, getting down to Corpus Christi, Texas before turning north.
Mel and Arlene seemed a little distant from each other.
