Sandy had been drafted but failed the medical with flat feet. He wasn't upset about missing Korea.BR1-31
At Bradfprd Speedway a tie rod end on Sandy's 69 car broke and the steering failed so he got sideways right in front of Mel Austin whose 66 car was catapulted over the 69.BR1-38 BR1-39
