Summary
Mel was very confused as he slowly came roung in hospital to find Arlene nursing him. She was able to tell him what had happened and that no-one else was hurt.
Mel thought about where he would go when he got out of hospital The nearest place to a home he had was Livonia but he didn't want to be around for Frank to call him racing with MMSA again next spring.
Arlene was working in the hospital, wearing unfforms borrowed from Beverly, te head nurse.
Mel and Arlene talked about what they'd do and where they'd live. In particular turning their backs on racing and not being within reach of Frank and Spud next spring.
