Summary
Mel advised Arlene not to try to win every race unless she wanted Spud to play with the restrictor plates.
At Wausau, Wisconsin a mail packet including John Adorney's draft notice caught up with them. Sandy asked Dewey why he'd never been drafed and said that he'd failed the medical with flat feet.
They ran that night at Mosinee, Wisconsin and managed it that John won. He picked up a track honey in the winners circle while the track manager passed buckets to get him some cash in his pocket.
John wrote to the crew occasionally and let them know he got posted to Hawaii.
In Red Wing, Minnesota Mel got picked by a track honey. At breakfast next morning he got round to telling Arlene about Lillian, Dwight and the Railway Express job that got done to him twice.
Many local drivers ran for MMSA at their home races but none were interested in going full time. Rusty did join and stasyed for the fall season.
