Summary
A period of running a lot of rodeo rings. One time many spectators and the drivers went skinny dipping in an adjacent creek to wash off the dust and dirt raised by the race cars.
The crew sometimes had to camp out, and were sometimed invited home with some spectators.
Heading to Kearney, Nebraska Mel decided to detour to Hartford, Nebraska to look up his high school principal. He didn't get to see Mr Vogt but chatted with Mavis Hackenberg in Hartford Café. Mel learned that his dad had got sick so his parents had moved to California to be near their daughter, Shirley. Mavis got Shirley's address from her mother and passed it on to Mel.
