Dewey Blodgett was a skinny redheaded kid with a world class case of acne just out of high school.
He hung around the MMSA workshop during the winter of 1951-52 helping wherever he could, especially the dirty jobs. After a run during testing Spud McElroy and Frank Blixter asked Dewey if he'd like to go with them. He accepted with no hesitation.BR1-21
When Lillian Eberle wanted to get away from Dwight Dewey had the thought to give him a "Railway Express" job.
Dewey was second in the MMSA championship in 1953 and won it in 1954.
