Summary
Mel was substitute teaching, often simply baby-sitting the calss, and quite bored. Arlene wrote that she was working night shifts and fairly bored.
Frank's folks hosted a Christmas dinner for the crew, including Vivian.
Dink and his two girls invited Dewey, Mel, Pepper and Rocky over for New Year's eve, and several female relatives of the girls were also invited. Mel spent the night with Estelle who remembered him from Hoss and Helen's wedding though he didn't remember her. Rocky and Ariel got together and started a serious romance.
Frank asked Mel to go with him, Vivian and Carnie to Daytona again, promising Mel would have chance to get down to Fort Lauderdale.
