Summary

Somehow Jay Bailey teleported out and Chad McCumbee teleported in to drive the Hoselton grass rig for Clint Bork.
I think Chad stays with that vehicle for the rest of the day and Jay Bailey re-appears with the Hoselton tanker in chapter 9.
ajh March 2, 2021.

Clint Bork in the Hoselton grass rig went to look at the downwind edge of the fire and sent Mike Trevetheck in the Spearfish Lake grass rig to look round the other way. They struggled to see in the thick smoke. Noticing some greener grass they stopped to check and found it a bog, so they had to drive a long way past the fire to get round on firm ground.

Jack and Vixen met the Sheriff at the CR919 turnoff. When Randy arrived with the grader he'd hoped Bob Coopshaw would be waiting for him. He started ploughing out the track, following the kids in the jeep, and a couple of pickups with men and chainsaws followed him.

Sherif Stoneslinger sent Deputy Chris Aaronsen to look for Bob Coopshaw and provide a fast escort. He also got permission from Clint Bork to stage most of teh fire units at Shaundessy's Bait and Tackle to avoid blocking the County Road 919.
