Summary
Over the next seven years, Pat's writing with the Bradstreets has been sporadic. Pat makes progress in the Army and is promoted to Staff Sergeant. He is as an Instructor at Fort Knox when he receives an invitation to the Class of 1988 Ten-year reunion.
Pat decides to go, and drives back, not to see the town, but to reconnect with classmates. Many have changed, some spectacularly like Jennlynn. The Bradstreets are still distraught over losing Caitlynn, their only child, to a stoned driver. They have to break off their discussion when Emily starts the announcements. They agree to meet for breakfast in the morning.
