Summary
Pat adjusts to Army life in Saudi Arabia, enjoying the training and being ready. His experience has only confirmed his decision make a career of the Army. He gets a letter from Cindy announcing her elopment with Russ and Pat writes a congratulations in response.
It takes times for his letter to be forwarded to Cindy and Russ where the two are settling into a new apartment. They're happy that Pat had no expectations and write another friendly letter.
Pat's view of the Gulf War was mostly the inside of his Bradley fighting Vehicle. His experience was anticlimactic, herding Irapi prisoners. With the war over, Pat re-enlists and attends the NCO Academy, where he learns Cindy has a baby girl. He purchases and sends a Teddy Bear dressed in camo fatigues with his congratulations.
