Shelly Waltz was a member of the Bradford High School's Class of 1988.

It was revealed at the 10-year Reunion that Shelly was one of three people to have seen Denis Riley in drag while in high school. "up at the mall in Kalamazoo, the following fall... We were in a shop, looking at clothes. Shae was in there too, but not right next to me at the time. You looked right at me, didn't recognize me, and then saw Shae, who got your attention while I got out of there."^GM8 Shelly had no memory of it.

Shelly attended Michigan State University, as did Scott Tyler, although the school was so big, there rarely saw each other.^HT18 She was the first in Bradford to meet his girlfriend, Sonja, and was responsible for spreading the news of his black girlfriend back home.^MC4

Shelly attended Vicky Pabst's 21st birthday party.^HT17

After graduating, Shelly attended dental school.^HT21 She and Eve McClellan were among the few alumni at the 10-year Reunion to be called "Doctor".^GM2.

Shelly has stayed single. During her schooling, it was attributed to avoiding complications that might interfere with her education.^HT18 She was described as a "sharp-faced brunette with her brown hair in a perm."^DM3
