Summary
Some time after Lillian left Mel bought a small pistol in case Dwight showed up again.
The presidential election when Eisenhower won against Stevenson is mentioned.
The last race of the season was at Opp, Alabama the weekend before Thanksgiving. Two days later they had the end of season Banquet in Chattanooga, Tennessee again.Frank announced the season chanpionship was very close. The winners were: Scotty Lombard 3rd, Dink Braithwaite 2nd and Mel Austin 1st.
Dewey and Buck left together, the four guys from New Jersey also took off. Scotty and Perk said they might be back next year.
Back in Livonia John went back to his folks and Skimp stayed with his brother-in-law. Frank and Spud were rooming together. Vivian had lined up an apartment for Dink, Mel, Pepper and Rocky, though Dink went back to his two girlfriends of the previous winter.
Dink, John, Pepper, Rocky and Spud worked onthje cars through the winter, and Mel pitched in when he wasn't teaching.
Chick and Hattie invited the gang to Thanksgiving dinner, and again for Christmas dinner.
New Year's eve Spud talked about Frank and Vivian's situation and that their marriage would probably be the end of the MMSA touring.
