Summary
Before teh race in Streator, Illinois Lillian told Mel that she'd seen Dwight in the grandstand and she was worried. Carnie took her to a different motel than the crew was staying at.
Mel won a pretty close race. Dwight came over to the winners circle and complained about being on a chain gang in Jackson, Mississipi. Carnie suggested they meet in a bar a bit later and talk it out. Carnie ordered whiskeys and distracted Dwight and Izzy enough to silp a mickey finn into their drinks. He kept Dwight talking through a second round until Dwight and then Izzyt collapsed. They were put on different trains, Izzy heading east and Dwight heading west.
Lillian had talked with Carnie and agreed she'd leave MMSA when he found someone he trusted in a carnival to take care of her.
