Push that button, and your life will change forever! Jennlynn Swift is a college student who's down on her luck after her parents threw her out. She sees only one hope of being able to pay for college and her flying licenses. Little could she dream that pushing the doorbell of a Nevada brothel would lead to the things it does, which include being a national hero.
Magic Carpet is the first of a new series, The Bradford Exiles, and is the story of Jennlynn.
Chronologically, Magic Carpet overlaps the events of Alone Together but was published after it and after Blue Beauty.
Coincidentally, while Magic Carpet was being serialized on the Spearfish Lake Tales web site, a somewhat comparable real life story made the news in Britain. A former prostitute who had published and blogged under the pen name Belle de Jour dropped her anonymity. It turns out that she is now employed as a research scientist, using a PhD she financed by working as a call girl in London.[1]
