Summary

The events in much of this chapter repeat from a different viewpoint in Chapter 11 of Alone Together.

The Lambdatron senior shareholders meet in Stan's office, and come to the conclusion that Project Butterfly is never going to succeed, although they agree that they should make one or two more attempts in order to convince the Pentagon that it is a dead end.

Stan suggests to Jennlynn that it would be good if she could take Jon and Tanisha somewhere warm for a few days at Christmas to give them a break and remind them that they are still a part of Lambdatron. She agrees, and on the day before Christmas, picks them up at the Fulton County airport outside of Atlanta. They are astounded to see that she is flying a Learjet instead of the Cessna 310, and soon they are in the air on the way to a resort on St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands.

Christmas morning they are lying on the beach, enjoying the sun and talking about Lambdatron and their problems with their families. While Jon and maybe Tanisha are hoping for some slight reconciliation with their families, Jennlynn says:  "I've got unfinished business, too. The thing is, I don't know if I want to finish it. And while I don't want to seem rude, talking about it is just going to get me in a bad mood. That's the last thing we want on a Christmas of the exiles."
