Summary

Most of March is still winter on the calendar, and that means a lot of snow. But constructions season was not that far off, so there were plans to make, including those for the new wood pellet plant.

One morning Randy was in his office at Clark Construction when the phone rang. Ryan's secretary asked him to come to the plywood plant and sit in on a conference. Despite being busy, Randy figured that it would be good to get his mind off construction issues for a while and took off.

An hour later Ryan, Randy, Steve Augsberg and Allen Halifax were discussing an out-of-the-blue offer on a piece of Clark-Plywood-owned property - an island in the middle of a lake - for a million five for the island plus an access easement along the shoreline. Randy questions if they are serious? Yes, Allen replied. An hour later they agree to counter with two-and-a-half million.

That evening Nicole has no objections, and asks what are the chances the Clark Construction will be building the house. Randy answers that it's quite good, either as the primary contractor or as a subcontractor - but there will be problems with sewage, power, access, materials logistics, and more.

The following Monday Randy is in his office working on ordering materials for the upcoming construction projects when Ryan sticks his head into Randys office. Ryan informed thet the buyer snapped up the 2.5 million deal immediately, and they are paying cash!

Ryan then brings up Joel and Rachel, some issues with Joel's credit report, and the idea of putting a private investigator on Joel. At one time Ryan was thinking about making a very low-ball offer on Rachel's inherited property but he doesn't want to give Joel any money at all.

Ryan comments that they could send Ruth to drop by "just becasue she's in the area". Randy counters with On the other hand, there’s a big West Coast equipment show coming up in a few days, and we are thinking about getting a new grader. If Nicole is willing to let me go, I could kill two birds with one stone...
