Summary

While only Crystal and Nicole plan a long, fast hike, most trip members expect to explore the Havasu Trail. Unfortunately Tanisha hurts her ankle early and returns, but encourages Jon to continue without her, taking pictures to let her know what she missed.

Nanci takes advantage of the opportunity to get to know her sister-in-law better, especially of her Christian beliefs. Tanisha flatly tells her that for some of her questions she should just "Go hike up on the top of that ledge, get away from us, and be by yourself. Then get down on your knees and ask God what he thinks."

As Jon and Jeff return, they get to listen to Myleigh for a bit. They also help carry the harp back down the trail. Jon finds a nice view to take a photo and belatedly realizes what he took. Tanisha, Noah and Kevin help Nanci up from an obvious baptism.

Crystal and Nicole thoroughly enjoy their hard, fast-paced hike. They are in tune with each other and need no discussion about pressing on further and further. When they started to meet people that hiked down from the rim, they knew it was time to return and hiking down the trail goes much quicker than up. Soon all have returned and it's time to push off.

It's a few minutes before Crystal realizes her boat partners have that I know a secret smile and she asks what she missed. While she is wishing she were there for her sister, Jeff reminds her about Noah's words of God's will.

At camp that evening, Crystal takes time to talk with Noah. He's upset that her hadn't done more to help Nanci when it's Crystal's turn to echo the words about God's plan. A chance remark reveals that Crystal had her own revelation, becoming a Christian on her Hawaiian sailboat trip (which was described in Chapter 59 and Chapter 60 of Dawnwalker ).

At the campfire that night, Noah has more words and, after confirming with Ben and Joy they're ready, he calls them before the rafting party to marry them in God's name.
