Summary
Janine's visit over the Fourth of July weekend was over all too soon for her and Meredith. Brett and Kellye offered to drive them both to the airport so their distraction with each other wouldn't cause problems.
On the trip back to Curlew Creek Meredith confirmed that she planned to move to New York to live with Janine once the season at The Curlew Creek Theater was over. It had the added advantage of giving her a chance to see if she could make it big as an actress in New York.
Back at the rental house Meredith started throwing out stuff she decided she wouldn't need any more.
Rehearsals for The Man with the Plastic Sandwich got under way, and preparation of The Back Table started at the same time. Brett and Meredith were also working on their lines for Barefoot in the Park, the final play of the season.
The final weekend of The Odd Couple - The Female Version pretty well sold out. The audience was down for the first performance of The Man with the Plastic Sandwich, but picked up for the other performances.
One afternoon Brett and Kellye went back to the swimming hole to get away a little from Meredith's moodiness because she was missing Janine. They started skinny dipping before making love in the shade. they talk about what the future holds for both of them. Brett hoping for a high school teaching job but expecting to go back to substitute teaching and milking to get through the winter. Kellye was not looking forward to her return to college. Neither was liking the prospect of being apart, each living with their parents and not having the freedom they'd become used to together.
