Summary
Myleigh and Trey dropped Randy off at his house around dawn and he is soon in bed. He awakes around noon, has breakfast / lunch, and starts calling friends with the news of Brent's birth. The first call is to Canyon Tours, with Karin and Crystal. During the call he gets the disquieting feeling that the friendship he had with Crystal is slowly fading away, that their lives had diverged an awful lot since they left college. He calls Carlos and discusses the Newton estimate. His last call is to his mother.
On the drive to Camden to see Nicole, Randy and his parents discuss Linda's call to Rachel that announced Brent's birth. Linda suspects and is worried that Rachel's husband, Joel, is abusing her. Ryan comments that he talked to Scott Brayton a few days earlier had there was no new solid news. They discuss the logistics and procedures of moving Rachel and Jared to Spearfish Lake, assuming that she decides to leave California.
When they arrive at the hospital they find Nicole nursing Brent. Nicole asks if Randy has passed the word, and he says that he has called the Flagstaff gang, and everybody sends their best wishes. The conversation digresses to whether Crystal and Preach will ever settle down and have children of their own. The discussion shifts to if Scooter will ever become a mother - Nicole says that is a real stretch.
The discssion drifts to Myleigh as a mother... hmmmm.....
