Summary
Despite all the preparation, the boys discover Shae and Dave's new relationship when the adults oversleep and are found in bed by the excited children. Luckily, they don't think it's a big deal, and Shae's handling of their questions makes everything seem normal to the boys—they are pleased, and too young to ask a lot of questions.
Shae and Dave tell JoAnne and Hazel, and then Emily (actually, the boys break the news first). Nobody is much surprised, but there are still open question about the timing of the wedding and the couple's future residence. Emily and Dave discuss the possible buyout of the Bradford Courier with a couple of options. Now they need to wait on Lloyd.
Dave makes it clear that he can help with the running of the newspaper in emergencies only; he has too much on his plate to do it regularly.
Dave is facing the unpleasant task of telling Julie's parents about his relationship with Shae.
