Lloyd Weber of Bradford, Michigan was the editor and writer of the Bradford Courier.
Mel Austin described Lloyd in 1962 as " the publisher of the Bradford Courier for about ten years"BR2-6 By 1998, Lloyd had "been in the business over forty years, and frankly was burnt out on it a little, just going through the motions."HS10 Lloyd himself would take pictures on occasion, including historic events like the re-opening of the Bradford Track in 1967.BR2-24
Lloyd's bookkeeper, ad saleswoman and whatnot at the paper was Hazel Perkins.HS11
Lloyd could not attend the Bradford Chamber of Commerce breakfasts because that's when the Courier was being printed in Hawthorne. A young and enthusiastic Emily Holst started writing the reports for the Chamber, under Lloyd's training. After her election to the City Council, he recruited her to report on the Albany Township meetings. It was another step towards developing Emily's eventual placement at the Courier.HS10
"Weber had the reputation of being a dour, cranky old fart who didn't suffer fools gladly and liked things done his way." However, Emily discovered he was just uncomfortable talking with people. She described him as having "a sparkling intelligence, a wide range of interests, and a wry sense of humor."HS10
Lloyd experienced a serious heart attack in February 2002, and worked with Emily Holst to buy out the Courier. His wife was apparently called Betty.PUTP35
