Judy worked hard at her physical therapy to recover as much leg motion and function as possible. She can walk with braces, but not easily, not far and not without pain. Her therapist at Geneva was Beth Mohr. With help from her boyfriend Ken Sorensen, she attended Hinckley Junior College for a short time while still living at home. She went on to Western State in Athens to work on a degree but did not finish it.

Judy has appeared more than once on the cover of the Geneva Daily Post-Gazette for her actions.TNG4 TNG16
