Summary
Ken is harvesting corn, and Judy is collecting the crop and ferrying it back to the barn. Judy turns up with Charlotte, a little girl paralyzed below the waist that Beth has brought out to meet Judy. They decide to let the girl ride Candybar as a treat.
Norman rings up to tell Ken that he has a contract that Tom had signed over two years before for a large load of corn, which Ken doesn't have. However the fixed price written into the contract is a lot higher than the current market price, so Ken is able to buy enough from Norman and ten seconds later sell it right back to him at the higher price fulfilling the contract, and by the way, bringing in an extra $14,000 dollars profit.
Carolyn loses the court case, Judy renews her drivers license, and Ken is able to go to Henry Daly and pay much more money on the outstanding loan than Henry expected. Whilst they are not out of debt, at least they have saved the farm for The Next Generation. Judy gives Ken the happy news that there's going to be a next generation.
This is the last chapter of The Next Generation.
