Carolyn Sorensen was the wife of Tom Sorensen in The Next Generation.
Tom married Carolyn some time before 1983. She was a city girl, who worked as a pharmacist in Geneva, and was described as "scatter-brained" and "heavy-set, with dark hair".TNG5 She dislikes farm life and Ken Sorensen believes that Tom made a big mistake in marrying her.TNG8 Still, when her brother-in-law Ken married Judy Niven, her family contributed to "fitting things out" and helping to furnish their first home.TNG10
After Tom's death, Carolyn moved back in with her family.TNG12 Despite Tom predeceasing his father, Carolyn still sues for a share of the farm after Chet Sorensen's death.TNG15 This lawsuit is a major issue in the last fifth of the book The Next Generation. In the end, she lost the lawsuit.
