Summary
Ken is still tired and their anniversary celebrations are postponed for sleep.
Ken starts making preparations for the next year. After he talks to his father-in-law about grain deliveries and contracts, he visits his banker where he learns about potential problems with the next year's loans and the probate of Chet's will.
He learns that Carolyn plans to contest the will, seeking a share of the farm. The Sorensens decide they need careful planning for the next year. Judy digs into all of Chet's records, thinking to look at it with a spreadsheet. Ken starts research using library materials, talks with the County Extension Agent and frequent visits to the Willow Lake Cafe.
Armed with their research results and a careful plan, the family revisits the bank. The bank agrees to give them another year.
