Candybar was an old horse in 1983, when she was on the Sorensen farm, mostly put out to pasture, but occasionally ridden at a walk. Judy Niven had just been introduced to her and was happily riding around until she hears a "thud". Judy quickly rides over to where Chet Sorensen had been trapped underneath the corn planter, and uses Candybar to pull him out while she lifts the planter. ^TNG3.

Later, Candybar pulls a sleigh at Christmas time, and she gives a ride to a partially paralyzed girl named Charlotte.^TNG19
