Summary
Charles deRidder heard Kristy Baumgartner's initial report of the shooting on the TV at home. Hearing Cody Archer's name he checked it was the same person he'd had trouble with in Spearfish Lake and immediately sent an email suspending him form SMU.
Brenda Hodunk and Fred Appleby in the WNN New York office also heard Kristy Baumgartner's initial report. Fred sent Brenda to get a report, particularly background.
As Elise Simpkins was being wheeled out to an ambulance, Vixen noticed blood on the back of Jack's shirt. Jan found a tiny seeping wound, probably from a ricochet fragment, and an EMT cleaned and covered it.
Chief Bascomb told Cody he had to suspend him with pay while his shooting of Reed was investigated. He was going to ask the sheriff and state police to handle that investigation.
Charles deRidder drove directly to the Community Services Center where he introduced himself to Kristy Baumgartner. He told her on air that he had suspended Cody Arhcer, a known killer. He gave brief information about the shooting in Spearfish Lake.
