Summary
Amanda had three weeks to wait for Ron and Cordy to sail south with her. She kept picking things off the work list and spent nice days sailing and exploring.
One morning Zack showed up and suggested they sail over to the Coast Guard Station so Chief Barnes and others who had heard about the boat could see it. Chief Barnes was complimentary about the result of Amanda's work and gave her a clean inspection sticker. When they left the station Zack admitted he'd been showing off his girlfriend as well as her boat.
Ron and Cordy joined Amanda as planned and they motored down the Intracoastal Canal. Through Coast Guard contacts a marina at Ft. Pierce was recommended for Amanda to leave the Rag Doll over the summer, so they looked round it and made the arrangement.
Ron had left his car at a marina in Hollywood, and used it to collect his parents with Samantha from the airport before he and Cordy drove back to Jacksonville.
Jake told them that Adam Caldwell had paid for slips for Moonshadow and Rag Doll at a marina at Key Largo where Greg and Lisa Alwyn would have Winter Haven for Christmas.
Samantha spent time on the foredeck in a fairly extreme bikini getting a tan, or sunburn.
While they were catching up with Greg and Lisa, Adam Caldwell joined them and introduced Audrey Melbourne, saying she'd been sailing with him for a while. Slowly the story of how they met at Blanche Tickle the summer before, bumped into each other at Georgian Bay and again when Adam was sailing the Knick-Knack in Florida the previous winter. Audrey mentioned the trouble with her son (Bertie) and daughter-in-law (Josette). The Lewis family told Adam off for being too secretive.
