Sid Sims was the owner of Sims Boat Yard outside Jacksonville, Florida where Amanda Lewis rented a slip while she worked on Rag Doll. ^DS31

Sid lived with his wife Maybellene and daughter Cordy in a trailer up the road a bit from the boat yard.

At first reluctant to rent a slip to Amanda, she won him over talking about other boat restorations she'd worked on and saying she'd live on the boat while working on it until the end of March when she had to head north back to work.
