This article is about Jenny Easton, the singer. For her real-life identity, see Jennifer Evachevski.

Jenny Easton is a country singer. Her first hit was Smoke-Filled Room, which was also the title of her first album, released 1980/1981. She was signed with Nashville-Murray for most of her career until her move away from the country genre. Her first agent was Fred Knox who allegedly raped her and received a kickback from Mike Monagan to renew her contract with at Nashville-Murray.

Jenny appeared in movies, including one with the Hollywood star Richard Riley in which she was paid $2.2M and would receive more money from an album associated with the movie. Her own opinion of the picture was "Simple gratuitous sex, just to punch the damn turkey up to make it deserve an `R' rating. That goddamn Riley smells like a goat, and he's about as horny."BAR28 "It was a miserable piece of exploitationist shit. Just gratuitous sex and violence."BAR40 She continued to make movies, but she "rarely acted in any but her own films anymore, since she required full script approval as part of the deal."FtS17 She worked hard to overcome the earlier raunchy image and moved towards family entertainment. One movie required three weeks of filming in Italy in 2000.

Jenny did shows in Las Vegas, her last one being around the 4th of July, 1987. She refused request for shows in October of that year and by 1998, she was fully in control of her career. She did go on tours after that, including one of Australia.

Jenny made a series of Christmas specials called Wonderful Winter World, most using footage from Spearfish Lake and dog teams from Tiffany and Josh Archer, who she also sponsored for several years in the Iditarod.

Jenny Easton appeared more than once on Grand Old Opry. There is no mention of her ever being a member however.

She created her own backing group, the Boreal String Band, especially for a TV special called Great Performances: Saturday Night with Jenny Easton. The show and album marked her switch away from traditional country to New Wave.
