Summary
After Mike returned to the Navy things got back to normal. Rachel's birthday came and they had a little party for her at the Channel Stop. It was the last time Jake saw Marge alive.
During the next few weeks one of the charters was Lisa, Greg and his parents. While Greg's father was introduced to lake fishing Lisa talked to Jake. Among other things, she passed along that Greg reported that Brittany was still staying with Adam.
A few weeks later Annette knocked on Jake's door one morning with the news that Marge died in her sleep, that Barb was on her way over there, and that Nate asked if Jake would deal with the day's fishing party. Jake took them out, but it was a lousy day. They got a couple of fish on, but never managed to boat one. Finally, along in the afternoon they all mutually decided to give it up as a bad day and headed back in. Nate met them, apologized for the bad day, and the customers took off. Nate then asked Jake to fetch Mike Kunkle from the airport, and to take the next two days fishing charters, but Jake would have Rachel with him to help.
On the way back from the airport Mike and Jake talked about future plans - Mike staying in the Navy, Jake possibly going back in, Susie, Rachel, Brittany (by reference), and more.
Rachel was uncharacteristically quiet and reserved on the next two days fishing charters. The day after was Marge's service, and there were more people on the boat than Jake expected. He ran them well offshore, Nate spoke a eulogy and gently sprinkled the ashes onto the lake.
