John Engler is a member of Bradford High School Class of 1988. He had a bit of reputation as a good lover, but as classmates Vicky Varney and Dayna Berkshire agreed later, his reputation was overblown.HT14
John did help Dayna find an early gig playing music at a party, but he wasn't around when she tried to leave and someone was pressuring her for sex. She ended up walking to The Willoughby's not too far away. The experience sparked a new level of learning from her mentors.HT2
John started dating fellow Bradford '88 classmate Mandy Paxton as both went to Eastern Michigan University. Sometime after this, Emily Jones told Jennlynn Swift "He and Mandy Paxton have been engaged and broke up with each other three times now."MC4 They did get married, moving to live and work in Orlando a few years later.HT26 By the time of their High School reunion in 1998, John had " had gone through three different wives and was looking at a fourth in the near future."MC26
At the Reunion, we learned that "He bought a failing business in Florida and, according to his dad, he's getting into the million-dollar bracket now."HS2 John is the owner of Suncoast Medical Supply, LP1 and a portion of his story, and that of Sally Hanson (another Bradford '88) and her daughter Teresa is covered in the book The Last Place You Look.
He'd "been through three wives. It was almost four but I caught myself in time" when he took Sally Hanson in. "Mandy and I managed to put up with each other for five years, two living together and three married after that. The other two didn’t last long, only four months with Susan, a little over a year for Lisa." LP2 The nearly fourth was Julie. Mandy walked out when things were specially difficult with Suncoast Medical Supply,LP1 the other three proved unfaithful.LP10
