Summary
Work settled down for John and there were no dramas at home. Julio managed to keep the Jaguar running, he and Annamaria enjoyed driving round in it.
The day Teresa got her casts off she was glad to be able to get into the pool. Mandy called to tell him she had a job in Carson City, Nevada so she wouldn't be returning when her divorce came through. John and Sally were in the hot tub when Teresa came out to join them. John felt awkward when she stripped off and got in. She told them she wanted to stay there long term because John had been a pretty good dad to her. Sally told her there were other issues and she said they should work them out for her sake.
John couldn't sleep and was surprised when Sally joined him in bed. She said she preferred to be the one in his bed, if she wasn't she thought Teresa would be.
The sixth morning both John and Sally were relaxed and smiling. “That’s better, you two,” Teresa said when she saw them. “It wasn’t worth the worry now, was it?”
John was accompanied to the Class of 1988 twentieth reunion by both Sally and Teresa. He and Sally hadn't married but life was good for them.
