Summary
Once again, flying time was thinking time for Jennifer. The prospect of Will getting out of the air force and them moving to the Bar H Bar ranch seemed closer. She realised that though she'd enjoyed her times at the Bar H Bar and their cabin she would not like to live there full time. She also had Lambdatron and the Hearts of Gold organization tugging her to Phoenix.
George Bush phoned Jennifer from the Redlite Ranch with an update on Lonnie's situation - he'd be in a state prison for two years if he behaved. That could be a lot longer if Robin testified about statutory rape, moving her across state lines while a minor. Jennifer reported that Robin would be likely to testify but it would be better if it could wait a few weeks until she turned eighteen.
Another flight in Magic Carpet took Liz Wardell from Las Vegas to the Bar H Bar to check on Robin. While there, Jennifer told Robin of the report on Lonnie and asked about her testifying. Robin agreed, partly because she was still scared he'd come looking for her when he got out and to prevent him hurting another girl in a similar situation. Liz agreed it would also help Robin if she testified.
Jennifer and Norma flew to New York to be interviewed by Brenda Hodunk and to interview a couple of girls who work the streets for the TV documentary. They also spoke to people running a mission to help the girls and realised the contact would be useful in developing plans for Hearts of Gold.
After a weekend in Biloxi, Jennifer realised there was tension between herself and Will over the issue of living on the ranch. She determined to bring the issue out into the open. She was surprised by a phone call at Lambdatron from Will. He'd received his next posting which was to Luke Air Force Base outside Phoenix.
