Greeley Airport has several appearances in the Spearfish Lake Tales universe.

In Rocinante, the first book, Jack Daniels teaches students how to fly from Greeley Airport... "six hours a day, five days a week" in 1971.Roc2-11 On weekends he is a glider instructor at Waverly West Soaring Ranch. Greeley Airport is also the location for where Jackie Archer completed her pilots license training and testing in the same year.Roc3-6

In 1993, Jennlynn Swift needed an upgraded replacement for her small plane, the Magic Carpet, and went shopping. She found and purchased a 1962 Mooney Mark 21 at a broker's based at Greeley Airport for $42,500 and traded in her Magic Carpet Cessna 150 for $9,500, the "exact figure she'd paid for it a little over four years before"MC14 She named the Mooney Soiled Dove.

Jennlynn returned to the same airplane brokerage in 2002 to help Jeff Waldemer purchase a replacement plane for their missionary work in South America. She negotiated a bargain for them, buying a Cessna 207 from John Holger. While there, she discovered her old Cessna 150 in the line of used airplanes and without any negotiation this time, bought back her Magic Carpet, again for $9,500.MC36
