Jeff Waldemer is a pilot and Christian minister that plays a role in Magic Carpet and earlier has a brief cameo in Chapter 5 of Facing the Storm. Jeff is married to Sheila, who is also a pilot.

Jeff is the married missionary who flew Brandy Evachevski out of Bolivia in March 2000 when she had enough with her years spent on the frontier. He would fly his Cessna 185 around eastern Bolivia, supporting the missionaries there. He wasn't supposed to fly actual charters, but would for donations to the organization. From the words of Site Manager Fred Warwick, we assume he could take offense at blasphemy.^FtS5

A couple years later finds him flying from Mexico City to Chicago on the same flight as Jennlynn Swift when the Airbus 300 is hijacked. With the flight crew wounded, Jennlynn as pilot and Jeff as co-pilot take over flying the plane.^MC31 We learn that he has flown right seat (i.e. co-pilot) in a DC-3 a couple times and has thousands of hours in a Cessna 207.

Jeff's reaction to Jennlynn's part-time job is of loyalty. "I sat beside you when you landed this thing, and I will stand beside you when they're throwing heat at you. It's the only honorable thing to do."^MC32

Jeff had returned to the United States for fund-raising, especially to replace their Cessna 207. His tour of speaking engagements included a stop at Bradford, MI without knowing the Reverend Swift there was Jennlynn's father. Jeff played a key role in the reconciliation of the Swift family. He also officiated at the wedding of Jennlynn and Will Hoffman.
