Summary

It's late on April 15 and Joe and John have just finished off the income tax season. They've agreed that John would buy into the firm when he could make the financial arrangements. Although he'd be earning less, his arrival means that they could increase the amount of work they could do - Joe has been turning away work for lack of time.

John's old firm Rotunda is in serious financial trouble and has announced a huge round of lay-offs, so John got out at just the right time. John and Candice have decided to let the boys finish the current school year in Decatur, whilst they sell the house there and look for one in Spearfish Lake, then they can move the boys over the summer and start the new academic year at the new school. Whilst the boys are disappointed to be leaving their friends behind, Shay didn't want to go to either of the schools in Decatur, so was not unhappy to be going to Spearfish Lake.

They boys want a dog if they move, John and Candice are trying to avoid the topic. Candice has spotted an ad for a house on the lake front, but John refuses it because he knows the location - that particular part of the lake shore is a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes.

When they get back to Decatur, Candice finds she no longer has a job - her postion has been eliminated post-merger.

Back at Spearfish Lake, Walt introduces John to some of the regulars at the Spearfish Lake Cafe. Steve Augsberg promises he'll ask his wife Binky to go easy on John when he's looking for a house.
