Summary
Danny & the girls pick up Josh after he finishes work. They go out to Mark & Jackie's to see if Mark will get out the telescope for them, but when they get there Jackie is just on the way to fetch Mark as he's been out in the glider and ran out of altitude.
They follow along, talking about their plans to go to Athens. When they get to Mark, they load the glider on the trailer and discus the telescope. He tells them it isn't a good night for star gazing, so the four decide to go skinny-dipping instead.
Heather gives up on driving to Walden Pond and heads for Spearfish Lake via Minneapolis & Athens to check in with the Fish & Wildlife service and Dr. Gerjevic, who is away in Greece. She does get Pam's name and address however.
She gets a room at the Spearfish Lake Inn, and decides to use the pool before having a meal. She decides to use the hot tub and meets John there, who tells her of a local place where she can get an apartment at a decent price.
Heather sheds her bikini after her swim and dresses, then heads to the restaurant. While she is waiting she buys a copy of the Spearfish Lake Record-Herald from a newsrack. She reads and re-reads the article about the sewer separation project, which is good information for her.
John finds her and over dinner she is able to get a lot of background information on the local situation.
