Pam Appleton is a prominent character in the book Busted Axle Road.
She graduated from Spearfish Lake High School and presumeably was a member of their softball team.
She went on to work on her Master's in herpetology at Athens University with Professor Frank Gerjevic.
In 1987 she spent most of her summer looking for a Gibson's Water Snake in the sewers of Spearfish Lake.
