Walke County, Colorado is a very small rural county in south eastern Colorado. Possibly based on [Kiowa County, Colorado]. The county seat is Tyler, possibly based on [Eads]. The association with Kiowa County and Eads was provided by Boyd Percy in a [forum post] on May 23, 2019.

The west of the county was ranch country, there was some farming elsewhere.

In 1930 the population of Walke County was about 3500. Larry Reed thought the next census in 2010 would show no more than 1500, and nearly half of those would live in Tyler.CR2

The county is too small to have a number of services itself: there is an agreement with Cooke County to the south to provide court and jail,CR9 the nearest children's services agency is in Carondelet and serves five counties.CR13
